One disastrous blind date might just lead to something else…

After being dumped, Annie Beasley moves to New York City to create a new life for herself. When her sister gets engaged to her ex-boyfriend’s brother and decides on a Christmas wedding, Annie knows she can’t avoid her ex forever. But she’s intent on proving that she has moved on with her life. If only she had a new man in her life to bring home with her!

Oliver Chesterfield has been in New York for a year and although he misses England, he’s determined to make his mark without using any family connections. The only glitch was a disastrous blind date with Annie, an experience he’d care not to repeat. But when he realizes he needs a date for his company Christmas party to impress his boss, it’s Annie who comes to the rescue. But not without conditions of her own. And before he knows it, Oliver has agreed to be Annie’s date for her sister’s wedding.

It’s strictly a business arrangement. They don’t like one another. But it only takes one spark to light a fire.

GREAT story, sweet love story

A WEDDING FOR CHRISTMAS is a standalone read with a happy ending. It is part of a series and if this is your first read, you will not be lost as each story is a standalone story. This story starts in New York City and then ends up in Hope Falls, a few hours out of New York.Annie is a smalltown girl that moved to New York City when her boyfriend of 5 years ended their relationship. In the act of moving on she took a job in the big city and had plans to broaden her horizons. Things didn't work out quite like she had planned. Working all the time left her a little time to be social and make new friends. Still suffering from heart break, she decides to spend Christmas in New York. She tells her close-knit family that everything is wonderful, and she is doing great. She isn't but they don't know that.Oliver was introduced to Annie when his co-worker invited them both to dinner, sure that they would hit it off and become more than friends. It didn't work out that way. Annie talks without stopping when she is nervous and as she was nervous, she talked way too much. Oliver was not impressed. They didn't plan to ever see each other again. However, when Oliver finds out that the big boss has a tendency to promote people that were seriously involved or married. Oliver desperately needed a date for the Christmas party. And then when Annie's sister decides to get married on Christmas Eve and Annie assured everyone, she would be bringing a plus-one, their friends decided they could each one help the other out.Annie is a big hit at the Christmas party and now Oliver has to meet her crazy family to return the favor. Little do they all know that Oliver has a big secret that he is not willing to share but he is caught and has no option. This is a great story. Rather sweet, sometimes sad, crazy family habits, etc. make for a great read. I really loved it and I definitely recommend it.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer, nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am not a bot. I am a reader, and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 11/10/2023.
